Francois Kloc did some research at the Buffet museum which indicates that
the R-13 designation was an "Americanism", not a designation from the
French factory - the "R-13" appellation was by the American importer of
the instruments. The confusion lies in the usage of "R-13" meaning the
polycylindrical design by R. Carree' . The polycylindrical design was not
manufactured, at least by Buffet's records, until the early/mid 1950s.
Whether or not some _prototypes_ were developed in the last 40s/early 50s
is being researched.
