When I worked with John Yeh on Eb clarinet, his setup was a Vandoren B44
mouthpiece, Grand Concert Bb 3.75 reeds, and he told me he used the good,
but slightly softer reeds for Eb playing.

John Yeh is certainly an expert, much more than I will ever be, but yeah,
this is consistent with my experience.

Walter Grabner
who was beat out by John Yeh in the 1979 Chicago bass clarinet auditions. Ya
shoulda heard him warming up in the green room. I'll never forget. BTW, it
was the best audition I ever played. I wasn't nervous, 'cause I KNEW John was
gonna get the gig.

I think he was 19 then. I was 29. Shit happens.
