I just purchased a decent Normandy clarinet with an old plastic mouthpiece.=
I am saving to purchase a new hard rubber mouthpiece shortly.

I use Vanderan(?) reeds, strength #2 @-----.

BTW, I just started playing this instrument a month ago, and although I =
feel I have progressed, I know I have far to go.

Karen,

It would help to know about your set up. What kind of clarinet and =
mouthpiece
are you playing on? Also, what are you using for reeds?

I have some suspicions but will reserve them until you can give a little =
more information.

Please write back. I think there are many people here who will offer good =
suggestions.
