As has already been stated, many functions in manufacturing can actually be
done better and more consistently by machine than by human hands.
Automation is not by any means bad in and of itself. Also, Rico and Buffet
are both owned by Boosey and Hawkes, Selmer USA and Steinway did merge
recently, but I believe Selmer (Paris) is still a separate entity, and Vito
is simply the student line brand name of the Leblanc Company (named for
Vito Pascucci, the company president), rather like Bundy is to Selmer USA
(named for George Bundy, its founder and one-time president).
