Of course, that wouldn't be close to the same clarinet that Buffet
produces today, since, if I'm reading this correctly, the 22,000 is
referring to a serial number. That would make it a clarinet from around
1936/1937, well in advance of Carree's redesign.

Do you have the serial numbers of those clarinets? I'm wondering if they
were playing the polycylindrical designs we're using today.

Which may or may not be a good thing. "It depends" - some repetitive
"no-brainer" things are better done by machine, both in terms of
accuracy and in profits. Unfortunately, it causes some reduction in
jobs.
