I'm in a rush to a rehearsal, but "Whoopie John" indeed had real-life polka
band and I have several of his albums. I just can't remember where I
catalogued and filed them. But if my failing memory serves me correctly, I
believe his full name is "Whoopie John Goldfahrt" or something very close.
It's definitely a memorable name. I''m sure the polka police will correct me
shortly.
