HELP!!!
For chamber orchestra, I am working on the third movement of the Pleyel
Clarinet Concerto. I am having some difficulty with a fingering that I hope
someone on the list can help me with:
In the clarion register, it goes from Bb to G to C in a recurring sixteenth
note pattern. The Bb to G is slurred and the two Cs are tongued. My problem
is this: when I tongue all four notes in the pattern, I am fine. When I try
to articulate as marked, I get this little blurb of an A in between the Bb
and G. Any suggestions as to how I can get rid of this little annoyance??
My teacher and I are both stumped as to how to fix this. It is kind of
humorous but also very frustrating. Any suggestions would be GLADLY
welcomed!!!
Thanks in advance.
Jennifer

Jennifer,
When descending, lead with the bottom most finger. When ascending, lead with
the topmost finger. Try that. Works wonders.
