Hi Everyone,
I have a TMJ story too. I was getting daily headaches several years ago
that led to my diagnosis with TMJ. I got a splint to wear on the top, and
the headaches were completely gone in 3 days. And since the splint only
went over my back teeth, it didn't affect my playing at all. What's more,
it didn't show at all! I wore it 24/7 for several years, and am now
finally completely off of it, with no problems. I have wondered if the
playing aggravated the problem, because it does push the bottom jaw into
the head more, which as I understand it is just what can cause or aggravate
such problems.
In any case, I highly recommend the top splint over the bottom one (they
messed up once and gave me a bottom one) for several reasons. One, it's
much easier to eat and talk with the top one, IMHO. And it seemed to me
much easier to get used to it. Anyone that wants to know more, send me a
note.

Thanks,
Scott
