Hi Tim.

Not to me, I'm afraid. I'm just a Limey.

What that?

Oh yeah?

Well, then "The Think System" is different, probably. Or, possibly,
not; depending on how you interpret what the quote means. That's
because, "Think the Minuet in G" is a big idea that needs unpacking.
"Think the diminuendo" is a bit more tractable. And, I maintain, a bit
easier to see the value of.

So, since I don't really understand what Professor Hill meant, what's
*your* experience of trying what I said?

(By the way, I should say that the clearest demonstration of the
technique I've found is to start a note, F in the clarinet register say,
and play it quite loud with a flexed and expanded abdomen. Then you can
diminuendo to nothing over about 15 seconds while keeping everything
constant. Try 10 seconds, and then 5 seconds too. Do it with someone
else playing the A natural above, if possible, and match the diminuendos
*just by listening*. Then try faster, bell like attacks, again as a
duet if possible.)
