It's been interesting to observe the comments on double lip embouchure problems
recently. I'm having trouble understanding the problem about standing. Maybe
somebody could describe the problem a bit more exactly??
Do double lip players who only play sitting always rest the clarinet on their
knee? I play double lip but much prefer to play standing - and when I sit, I do
not normally rest the clarinet on my knee. I'm a bit alone on this as I was a
"closet case" double lipper for years until recently. Thanks to this list, I am
now well informed as to which great players play(ed) double lip. Thanks guys!
I hope to understand the problem also for the sake of future pupils who might
encounter this. If I don't have the problem and don't understand it either, how
can I help my pupil?
The question is then: why can't (some) double lip players play standing (for
extended periods)? I would be greatful for info and ideas on this...
