Ed, I wear contact lenses and have two separate "generic" reading glasses
that I wear for bifocal situations (I'm not a candidate for monovision or
bi-focal contacts) - one for reading books, the other for reading music.
The tough one is the conductors stand which I like at waist height. When
I'm not reading (books or music) my contacts work great for distance
vision and don't get fogged up in the winter or wet in the rain on the
football field!
I also have "progressive" bifocals that work pretty well for most near
distances.
