Yeah, Walter, thanks tons. Not:-). Even back in the Sixties when I
spent most evenings doing things I'd rather not confess, Donovan made me
want to throw up. SO sweet...so fulla love and acid...so full of other
more noxious substances associated with stables.... Right now I've got
a medley of "Season of the Witch" and "Guinevere" going through my
head. Urp.

Actually, I remember the Fugs, the group that made Zappa's bunch look
positively tame by comparison: I mean, the most outre thing The Mothers
did was simulate sexual relations with stuffed animals. Ed Sanders got
up on stage one night and excoriated the selfsame Donovan in language I
would rather not quote on a company-owned email system, then turned
around and played a couple of ditties like "Saran Wrap" and "Dirty Old
Man," the lyrics to which I still remember, maybe because I've grown
into the role by now:-). The Fugs were awful musicians but I don't
suppose that was the point of any act where one of the headline songs is
called "Kill for Peace."
