Mario,
The difference between the Festival and the R-13 is that the Festival is
made of the same wood as the Prestige models. It is thicker, more seasoned
and more dense. The register key is placed 3mm higher and the register tube
is French design, the bore is the same as the R-13(14.64.mm) The lower joint
is slightly longer. The clarinet tends to have a darker sound than the
R-13.
Have the upper joint re-padded with cork, this will brighten the
instrument slightly and make it a little more resonant. The cork pads have
a harder surface than the skin pads and acts as resonators. You may also
try having resonators installed on the lower joint.
