Sharp knives are far safer than blunt ones - you won't have to press nearly
as hard, so there's far less chance of the knife slipping. Also, a
razor-sharp knife will hurt far less if you do cut yourself with it. My
father does a lot of woodworking, and he'll never have blunt tools in his
workshop for both ease of use and safety considerations.
