I like to use both. I find that the reed knife gets more wood and is faster
than sand paper. I like to use the sand paper to finish off the reed after
using a reed knife. The back of the sand paper is good for polishing the
reed. About the danger of reed knives, I did cut my finger once but did not
do any damage. I takes skill to use a knife and until one is sure about
using it than they should not in my opinion.
