Just to add to Neils reply, there is some finger technique involved in a
glissando, at least the way I do it. Carefully and slowly move your fingers
away from the tone holes, while at the same time opening your throat,
loosening embouchure, and slowly raising the tongue. This is the way I do
the glissando during Rhapsody in Blue. I must confess that I haven't tried
it further than the altissimo F.
