With regard to "simple things," it seems to me that anyone with the requisite
academic credentials to be admitted to a major private university like Duke
should also be able to write a letter to the chair of the music department
inquiring about the clarinet faculty, address the envelope, enclose the
letter, affix a 32-cent stamp to the envelope, and mail it. Or is my "old
fart" showing?
