To which I say:

Walter, Walter, calm down! This sort of thing isn't good for your Blood
Pressure. I think that this list is an *excellent* place to ask for a
recommendation of a good clarinet teacher. We have some of the best (and
most vocal) amateur, academic and professional clarinettists right here.
Who better to ask for a suggestion?

I'm embarrassed to say that, although I work at Duke, I don't know who to
recommend. Mark Charette's tip to try James Gilmore sounds like a good
one. If Victor is willing to travel to the next town over (Chapel Hill, my
alma mater) he will find a wonderful teacher in Don Ohler (who is a member
of this list and whose name I just butchered, I'm sure).

Good luck next year, Victor. I hope you do choose to come here to Duke. I
think you'll not be disappointed (and I'm saying this as a life-long Tar
Heel, although I hope no one at UNC holds it against me).
