There may be a problem if the child can not extend his arms in the proper
position on the keys and be able to center his embouchure on the plate.
You may have to obtain a curved head joint model. I had several children
try to play the flute and they were not able to position the flute correctly
and their arms were extended so much that they got tired within a couple of
minutes.
