With regard to the question about inputting music notation into a computer:
there is a program called Autoscore which has the ability to take sounds
from a microphone and present them on the computer screen in music notation.
In other words, you supposedly can play your clarinet into the mike and see
the notes appear on a musical staff. Then the program would generate a MIDI
file for you, which could be played or imported into a notation program for
transposing or other changes. The manufacturer is Wildcat Canyon Software;
web site www.wildcat.com. I don't own the product yet, so can't say how
well it works. I'd appreciate hearing about it from anyone who HAS used it.
