I recommend this homepage of Larry Kranz to read and consult.
http://user.uniserve.com/~lwk/welcome.htm

My personal opinion:
1)At first put only left hand thum and pointing finger.Put right hand onl=
y
to hold the flute. This is the easiest holding position and to emit tone(B=
).
2)Consideration should be made that at the edge(far side) the breath is
divided equally to outside and inside. The embouchure width is about 8mm(v=
ery
small aperture) and its ideal shape is flat oval.

Good book:Trevor Wye's books are at present the best, I think. Available =
at
Flute World.

After succesfully emitting a tone, flute is easy afterward and it becomes
very difficult if a player seeks real tones, intonation, and expressions li=
ke
every other instruments.
Flute sounds like a beautiful lady's voice and a joy to play.
