I think the soaking time depends on the environment humidity.If reed is
saturated with atmospheric humidity and then if we soak it too much time=
,it
will lose its vibrancy.This is my experience in humid Japan:only 1 or 2
minutes is enough. I am now wondering what part of reed should be soaked
since it seems the heart of the reed may not be soaked to stay firm to ho=
ld
vibration center.
