Ok, picture this - a few years ago, I was giving a group lesson to 3 5th
grader guys in the school that I am the Woodwind teacher at. As the
students were packing their instruments up, one of the guys (his parents
play in the Phila. Orch.) decided to pretend that his clarinet was a
baseball bat. He swung the clarinet like a bat, holding it by the lower
joint, and the upper joint (with M.P. attached) took off like a rocket
across the room. It looked like the next lunar landing as it traveled
airborne about 15 feet, and came to a crashing halt on the floor. Luckily,
the clarinet stayed horizontal to the floor while flying through the air,
and not even the mouthpiece was broken. Couple of unbent keys later, it was
fine. The 3 kids were on the floor gasping for air they were laughing so hard.
At least he used cork grease.......)
