However by decoupling the performer from the materials and demonstrating
that the material makes no difference by itself, now we are free to re-train
our prejudices and biases. This would someday permit manufacturers to
successfully make and market professional plastic clarinets without the
subterfuge that Buffet uses in its Greenline models (i.e. the hoopla about
it being ground grenadilla).

So it is very important to distinguish between the physics of the situation
and the player's interaction with and perception of the situation. Both are
very real and are important elements to deal with and must be dealt with
differently.
