Subj: [kl] Dan Leeson & the Mozart Requiem
Date: Sat, 3 Apr 1999 17:21:03 -0500

I have been remiss in not recounting my experience of the 7th of March. On
that date my son and I attended a performance of the Mozart Requiem at the
University of Nevada Las Vegas. The concert was preceded by an informative
and interesting lecture delivered by Dan Leeson. His lecture discussed the
numerous problems with the Requiem and the new (circa 1991 I think)
completion by Robert Levin.

One never knows how something will strike a 15 year old, but my son enjoyed
the lecture and loved the Requiem. The university orchestra and singers did
a good job (alas without basset horns).

Thanks, Dan for contributing to an out of the ordinary afternoon. Anyone
who has the chance to see and hear Dan Leeson in action should do so!
