If the vibration of the material makes no difference,then why does grabing hold of the
barrel while playing, restricting vibration,alter the timbre slightly?
The tube, texture, temperature, geomety, player, reed ,etc ........ has not changed,
the timbre will. The only change is the restriction of vibration of the material.
Therefore the vibrating material must be lending some effect on the timbre.
