Finally, someone with an opinion relating to the acoustics of woodwinds
based on facts, not subjective "gut" feelings! As you undoubtedly already
know, there exists an overwhelming amount of documented evidence proving as
much (Bakus, Rossing, Benade, etc. etc. etc.). For those of you who insist
upon comparing violin acoustics with clarinet acoustics, trumpet acoustics
with flute acoustics: be advised that Woodwind acoustics, Brasswind
acoustics, and Stringed Instrument acoustics, ALL operate, and are based
upon unique and entirely separate physical (i.e. physics) priciples from
one another.
