There is a very good chance that is true. Unless it's listed in the
Langwell Index, you will have a very difficult time finding out anything
about it. Have you checked this book? It 's rather expensive so most of us
don't have one but the webmaster of the bulletin board does. In the first
half of this century, there were thousands of small clarinet makers in the
world. Another huge group of instruments were the stencil horns (made by
one company and then branded with a retailers name such as Sears, Carl
Fischer, etc). The stencil horns are particularly difficult to trace as to
who made them and when.
