I don't know if I'm beating a dead horse, but please forgive me if I do, since I am new. I went to see Guy Chadash to try out new barrels. After about 6, I asked for more so he went and made 6 more for me to try. They were all completely different even though the same bit was used to ream these barrels within minutes of each other. We both agreed that the wood was the X factor in the difference in sound. Could it be the density, the way the grains are running? I don't know.
