Seriously though, I was once asked to audition for the seat of a colleague
who many thought was being mistreated by the management. (this was in the
Toledo Symphony). I did the audition, but never felt good about it.

I was on the player's committee in Toledo for several years, and I in no way
want to demean that organization, but management SEEMED to ME to be pulling
some dirty tricks on the contracted players.

Perhaps this experienced senstized me to this issue.
