An interesting situation brewing here in New York! I just got off the phone
with a friend of mine and it seems the Metropolitan Opera's labor dispute
just
got pushed into high gear. Joe Volpe, the General Manager, not noted for his
patience with such situations, has fired the ENTIRE orchestra and will be
holding general auditions starting within the next few weeks. >>

I have been in this situation in an orchestra in the past.

If the Met does have auditions..PLEASE PLEASE do not legitimize them by
attending, even for the experience!

Sometimes musicians have to stand together!
