It irks me a bit when someone will disparage an instrument or make without
up to date and accurate information. I suppose I should also ask the age
and experience of those you've talked with.

The other day we got the top-of-the-line Jupiter Parisienne clarinet in the
store. I, of course, immediately checked it out. My preliminary report:
Don't look down your nose at Jupiter clarinets! It felt good and responded
well. It is grenadilla, has silver-plated keys, and the adjustable
thumbrest has a hole designed for a strap to hook into. Most impressive to
me was the amazing match of intonation and timbre between the sliver key,
trill key, and 1-and-1 fingerings of Eb and Bb! Of course, since Jupiter
has no reputation in the clarinet world, I'll NEVER be able to sell it,
even at $1250 LIST!

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
