If you're pleased with it that is what matters!!! If you go to Yamaha's site you'll find that quite a few respected professionals play their instruments as well as some respected members of this list. Just about the highest praise I've heard for Yamaha is that they are _very_ consistent which hasn't always been the case with other brands they are compared with. I've played in a clarinet trio where I was playing a Buffet, another player a Selmer and the third a Yamaha. You wouldn't have known it- we all enjoyed our instruments and were more than capable of blending our sounds. It irks me a bit when someone will disparage an instrument or make without up to date and accurate information. I suppose I should also ask the age and experience of those you've talked with.
I have to laugh at Ebay sometimes because Brand name prejudice is so rampant! The end prices don't necessarily reflect the quality of the instruments... I'll stop the tirade there!

Enjoy your instrument!
