Suggestion: I don't know what's in the Drapkin book (I try to get full copies
of parts rather than use excerpt books) but in the Grand Canyon Suite learn
the bass clarinet part for the Painted Desert as well as the well-known
"donkey" excerpt.

The Painted Desert excerpt was asked for years ago in the various Chicago bass
clar auditions. I'm sure Lawrie Bloom and John Bruce Yeh remember!
