This is my first time posting and I have two questions I am
hoping for some help on.
1. Does anyone know of any places in the San Francisco area
where I might be able to try out a variety of mouthpieces and
barrels? I have been playing on a Gennusa for years, but I was
hoping to try some others.
2. Long ago when I bought my first clarinet, an R13 from 1960,
it came with a Buffet barrel which had a serial number on it:
1131 680, but no other marking. (Aside from the Buffet seal)
I was under the impression their regular barrels didn't have
serial numbers, but in any case this one isn't anywhere near
the serial number of the clarinet.

Clark Fobes lives in San Francisco and makes great mouthpieces. He also makes
barrels. If I lived anywhere near there I would have him match a mouthpiece
and barrel to my clarinet.
You can get to his web site from the Klarinet web site.
Good Luck......and tell Clark I sent ya! (maybe I'll get a discount next
purchase, right Clark???)
