I'll take the bait. As one directoly involved with the recent
Shifrin/Neidich debate, I can honestly say that I enjoy the playing and
recordings of Shifrin and Neidich and Stolzman and Leister, and own most--if
not all--of all. HOWEVER, I am a fan of neither Toscanini or Stokowski, and
prefer other conductors such as Haitink, Abbado, Karajan, Jarvi (both Neemi
and Pavo), Dutoit, Hickox, Thomson, Handley, etc., etc., etc. I guess it
comes down to personal taste, and choice.
