Roger,
I only own one Shifrin recording - Mozart Clarinet Quintet.
However, I have heard quite a few of his oevres on the radio and I have
been consistently underwhelmed. I am of the opinion that he doesn't play
NEARLY as well as his reputation would lead one to believe. Kind of like
those two female British clarinetists who seem to have recorded everything
in sight but whom we all say sound rather like high school students.
