There's no such thing as a "mysterious location" on the Internet. Every
computer on the Internet (even yours, when you connect from home) is assigned
a unique number, at least for the duration of your call. It is relatively
simple to locate the _person_ or at least someone logged in as someone else
from that unique number with the cooperation of the company who is leasing the
unique number. I do it more frequently than I wish - finding out who is writing
obscenities on the BBoard, who is trying to use Sneezy as a spam relay, etc.
There's more than enough real mysteries out there ...
