A PROFESSIONAL TROJAN SCAM
Computer users should be on the lookout for a new Trojan horse program
disguised as e-mail software.
The program, called ProMail, appears to be a professionally developed
e-mail system, with compete support for sending and receiving messages,
sending attachments, creating filters, and virus scanning.
Because the program actually functions as a professional e-mail client,
users who downloaded the software didn't realize it was scanning their
systems in the background, secretly collecting and sending their personal
data to a mysterious location somewhere on the Internet.
The ProMail Trojan horse is so polished, it snuck past testing at major
Internet download sites, and has apparently been in circulation for months.
If you're using ProMail, stop immediately, and delete all traces of it from
your PC.
