Subject: Mistakes
I am really getting tired of all the mistakes that are found in some =
of the literature that I own. In no way in this message am about suggest =
that any publishing company not be used, I am only expressing my disgust =
in the versions of the Weber Concertino and Weber's first and second =
concerto that I own. I have the international companies version edited =
by Reginald Kell. I think they are horrible. In each one I believe there =
are mistakes. What pushed me to this conclusion is the fact that in this =
edition of the Weber Concertino, there is a G# put into the run in the =
second var. that should not be there. I think it is the 8th or 9th =
measure. And in the 6/8 var. on the third page there is a measure left =
out in the clarinet part before going into the next var. I understand =
that articulations may be a personal choice in these pieces and are =
interpreted differently by many, but I don't get the obvious mistakes in =
printing. Does anyone have a personal choice of publishing when it comes =
to accuracy? I am worried that there may be you students out there who =
may by these pieces with mistakes and learn them all wrong. I am sure =
they will finally be taught the correct way by a private teacher but I =
feel that they should get the music closes to the original of the =
composer. This applies for all work not just my the Weber works.=20
