As the "other" David, the one that Prof. Jacobowitz referred to, I also must add
to this post by Prof. Blumberg. When I was serving with the 661st Air Force Band
at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, I had the opportunity to hear two
performances by David Shifrin. The first was a chamber concert in which he
performed the Mozart Quintet. The second was a symphony concert with the
Cincinnati Sysmphony in which he performed the Mozart Concerto. Both were
excellent performances, and neither could be described as lackluster.

However, everyone one of us on this list has different tastes, and that is what
this list is about--sharing different ideas, opinions, concerns, etc. as they
pertain to the clarinet.
