Interlochen's web address is www.interlochen.k12.mi.us, but seems to
be down at the moment.

Another, albeit less intense, place for young musicians in Michigan is
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. 2 of my children have attended, and both enjoyed
their stay. They also have European tours for young musicians who qualify
in the prior summer; they are very well run and organized. My oldest son
had a riot a couple of years ago as a member of the International
Symphony Band. Their jazz teachers are exceptional (at least that's the
word of my middle son - trumpet & piano - and the jazz bands did sound good
to my ears). Their web site is www.bluelake.org . They are significantly
less expensive than Interlochen, and run 2 week camps.

The level of playing isn't the same as the Interlochen summer camp, but
for a first timer it may be a better choice.

Another choice for the high school student is Boston University's Tanglewood
Institute (my oldest son went there last year), and for the older high school
student there are many opportunities; this year my oldest auditioned for both
the Tanglewood Institute & Chautauqua (Eli Eban is the clarinet instructor
there). Chautauqua hasn't finished listening to all the audition tapes yet ...
