Someone should sponsor a doubling competition. Contestants whould be required
to play all 13 standard doubles (piccolo, flute, alto flute, oboe, english
horn, Eb, Bb and bass clarinets, soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones,
and bassoon).

Repertoire would be chosen from standard solo literature, plus jazz and sight
reading. Maybe a piece commisioned for the competition that utilizes all
doubles would be played for the finals.
