I had my wisdom teeth pulled about a year ago. My oral surgeon told me
that I should be able to play in about a week (or less). I also
discussed it with my teacher, and he strongly advised me to not play at
all until there was absolutely no tension or stress. Much to my
distress, I wasn't able to play again for over a month. However, when I
did begin my regular practice routine again, it wasn't uncomfortable in
any way, nor was there any stress or pressure where I had had stitches.
I easily caught up and was quickly back to my old self. Waiting until I
was completely healed was definitely worth it.
