I had three wisdom teeth out in one go over thirty years ago. As far as
I can remember it took several days before I could eat anything more
than boiled fish and ice cream, but medical technology may have improved
since then to speed up the healing process. One funny thing, though,
after a couple of days my right cheek puffed up like a balloon. It
didn't hurt at all, but it made me look weird, and certainly wrecked my
embouchure! It went down gradually over the next week and I was soon
playing again. I can't remember how long it took but not more than a
week or two. My best advice would be to take it gently and don't play
if it hurts or is too uncomfortable. The mouth and gums usually heal
extraordinarily quickly though.
