I played with the SDS for several concerts being flown down from
the SF Bay area whenever they needed a basset horn. It was a
wonderful orchestra. Tony Pay came to conduct it and to play
the first Weber.
Then, as was reported, they did close down. But I understand
that they are now back but limping along. For example, I heard
that last summer they did a pops series by the ocean.
I would very much value having the straight skinny on this fine
group of people living in what is a heaven for weather in the U.S.
