I have recently come into a predicament that someone on this list might h=
ave a
solution for. =

I am performing Mozart's Requiem next Sunday here in New York City, and t=
he
place I was going to rent a basset horn from has had to order parts for t=
he
one I was *going* to rent, because it had been damaged by the last person=
who
rented the horn (who just brought it back to them two days ago.) I have
exhausted all of the possibilities of music stores I can think of here,
including ones I have rented instruments from in the past. =

I was wondering if anyone knows of a place or person who would rent a bas=
set
horn for a week, either in the New York, or that would rent one with a cr=
edit
card deposit by mail. I have to decide on Monday March 22 (today), becaus=
e of
the close proximity of the concert, because I will have to transpose the =
music
and play the part on clarinet if I cannot find one on short notice. Any h=
elp
is very much appreciated. TIA
