Hey everyone,
basically I was wondering if Vandoren is not the only brand out
there...what other brands of reeds are as good, if not better?
I ask this because my oboist friend has a supplier friend, who named 10
brands better than Vandoren right off the bat. But my oboist friend doesn't
know anything about clarinet, so I'm waiting to try the samples.

Also, how does B40 compare to B45? I've heard that B40 is supposed to be
the 'dark' one, but the principal clarinettist of my local orchestra uses
it (from what I hear) and his tone is very bright.
