Marty,

As I'm reading the responses to my questions of last night, it seems
that my major problem is my ignorance about music theory and what I'm
doing with the tuner. Joshua pointed out I didn't factor in the
difference between playing a Bb instrument, etc.

I'm sure I didn't post enough information in my first messages since I
was very frustrated and confused. I know that makes it more difficult
for people to respond. I just knew I had a problem, which is turning
out to be a user error, and wanted some help clarifying it.

Thanks for your thoughtful responses though since they are helping me
get a better handle on what I'm doing when I try using a tuner.

I'm going to have to work with this again this morning, after I'm fully
awake.

Jim
