Bill and
Chris - All these tuners including the Seiko ST747 if placed side by side
will tune exactly the same. They only differ in features. Inside they use
the same tuning chips which are manufactured to respond to certain pitches.
They may stop working, but I have never seen one go out of tune. If someone
has heard of an out of tune tuner, please explain how it could happen.
